Rains Theatre
Rains Theatre is the theatre department at Rains High School in Emory, Texas, located between Lake Fork and Lake Tawakoni on Highway 69 in Northeast Texas. We are located approximately an hour's drive northwest of Tyler and almost an hour's drive east of Dallas.
We have an extremely active theatre department with a rigorous curriculum focused on depth and complexity, critical and creative thinking, project-based learning, authentic assessment, conceptual learning, numerous benchmarks, and the promotion of self-responsibility and autonomous learning.
In the spring we participate in the UIL One-Act Play competition. Throughout the year, we put on SEVERAL other shows with a variety of styles and themes. We also strive to network with other local high school and community theatre groups--because we strongly believe in the concept of community and "family." We will continue to do our part to influence the Northeast Texas theatre environment by supporting other troupes and groups. We invite others to join us on this positive mission.
